Together with our city walking tour partners, ‘Original Berlin Walks’ – the best walking tour guides in town, this 40 minute introductory talk will discuss the rise of and fall of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, how they planned to take over Europe, and about the tragic effect they had on the Nazi’s many victims.

With Christmas just around the corner, plans are being put in place to host our traditional Hostel Christmas dinner, and we are super excited to be able to invite you! So if your here with us over the 25th December, and as yet have no real plans, then fear not –  we’ve got you covered.

Join us and get into the festive spirit as we host our traditional Christmas Dinner at the Circus Hostel. As always we have a yummy 3 course meal planned (as well as a vegan option).

Dinner time is set for 6pm and 8pm (two sittings) and our hostel bar will be open for some after dinner drinks to get the party started!

This months special guest Josh Frazer: This circus performer and soul-melting musician has collaborated with famed choreographers, a master clown, and poets.

DEANisHOME is an explosive carnival of music, celebration, and raw emotion. Standing alone behind his drum-machine, electric guitar, effect board and loopers, Dean fuses electric beats with Punk & Folk. His sound that pulls in the masses and turns pedestrians into a Party.

Dean have released 20+ albums in different generes all recorded and mixed by himself in the bedrooms he had lived in. Making a living as a full-time performing artist, Dean plays small & big concerts, but also street shows around Berlin & in Europe.

Judy grew up in Vietnam, Germany and in the United States. Born in an artistic family in Hai Phong, Vietnam, she soon after moving to Germany, where she grew up and found her voice, inspired by many genres from classical to jazz to pop. She began taking singing lessons at age 10, soon after, performing with gospel choirs and dance groups on a national level. After high school, she spent a couple of years in Orange County, California, living with family and performing in Los Angeles on the weekend. At the age of 19, Judy moved to Hanoi, Vietnam, to study classical and contemporary music.

When she returned to Germany, she juggled various jobs to make ends meet and also stayed creative by learning video production. By 2019, she made a bold decision to dedicate herself entirely to her craft. That was just the right propulsion, she needed. As a result, Judy has been invited to perform at live events, and fashion shows, across three continents, she’s formed partnerships in Vietnam, Europe, and in California. She has released her debut EP “Metamorphosis” in May 2020. On February 14th, 2021, Judy released her first German single “Vielleicht” featuring B.A.. She’s currently producing her second EP, expected to release in 2023. Through her music, Judy seeks to empower herself and others.

This trio of sisters with their natural demeanour and charming humour continuously wins hearts of more and more fans. They accompany their three-part singing with guitar, accordion and violin and their concerts are original and unique experiences. With their instrumental skills they add a new dimension to the swing music of the legendary Andrews Sisters, whose songs you will definitely find in their repertoire, as well as songs of Balkan, Gipsy, Slovak music. The Priester Sisters also have a steadily increasing supply of their own original songs, built on the crossover of various influences, and with a new unique sound.

“Les Fréres Paris” is a Gypsy Jazz trio composed of Laurent Humeau, Thomas Dekas and François Perdriau. Funded in 2016, they interpret pieces of the jazz repertoire with freshness and energy in the tradition of Django Reinhardt’s swing.

These 3 multi-instrumentalists are part of the boiling Berlin Jazz scene, each of their performances is an opportunity for them to share their passion for this style.

 

Join us for a traditional British pub quiz held in the Circus Hostel Microbrewery, test your knowledge for the chance to win some free drinks and prize money! Just bring your brains and 2 euro entry fee.

How this works:

Single entrance and teams allowed.

Teams no greater than 5 people.

2 euro per person entry fee, 4 Rounds with the winner of each round getting a free drink, and at the end of the quiz, the winners of each round will go against eachother in a final shootout for fame and glory – with a final but, let’s say,  challenging final question.  The winning team claims the entry cash!  and if nobody gets it right the money then the cash rolls over to the next week:) Happy Days!
