CSD 2025
Each year the Christopher Street Day demonstration and rally commemorates the Stonewall Riots in New York in 1969 and provides a space for the LGBTQ* community in Berlin to campaign for equal rights and the right to self-determination. With the parade held at the end of July, the month leading up to Christopher Street Day is Pride Month in Berlin.
Across the city there are a series of events and activities giving space to current issues in the queer community, all leading up to the parade and the Pride parties on 26 July 2025. For a complete overview of what is going on, check out the Christopher Street Day Berlin Pride website.
CHRISTOPHER STREET DAY PARADE
The motto of Christopher Street Day on 26 July 2025 is ‘Never silent again!’ We won’t stop until everyone is heard!’ The opening of the parade is on the corner of Leipziger Straße / Charlottenstraße at 11.30am with the departure of the first vehicle at 12 noon. The demo then moves through Mitte to Potsdamer Platz and on to Schöneberg and into the Tiergarten, ending up at the Brandenburg Gate.
Both a demonstration and a parade, expect elaborate costumes and floats, banners and speeches, music and dancing, combining joyful expression with displays of unity and a testament to the enduring fight for LGBTQ* rights. You’ll find the route map here.
Bars and clubs across the city will be holding events over the weekend. The official Berlin Pride Main Party is the House of Pride at Ritter Butzke on Saturday 26 July. This huge celebration brings together more than 3,500 revellers to seven different areas, five music genres, indoor and outdoor areas and more… “House of Pride: Where Berlin dances, lives queer and the night never ends…”
PRIDE MONTH IN BERLIN
As in previous years, the Christopher Street Day demo comes at the end of Pride Month. Each year there are a number of themes to the events and activities, based on current issues in the LGBTQ* community.
At the time of writing, there are lots of events to be confirmed, but some have already been announced via the Pride Festival website. On the weekend of the 19-20 July is the 31st edition of the Lesbian and Gay City Festival on Nollendorfplatz, with six stages, five themed festival worlds and community projects from Berlin, Germany and beyond. The Pride Festival Main Party will take place on 26 July at M-Bia Club.
