General information about The Circus

We’re located at Rosenthaler Platz, easily accessible via the U8 underground line as well as tram lines M1 and M8. You can also reach us via Hackescher Markt station, served by S-Bahn lines S3, S5, S7, and S9.

As a point of reference, The Circus properties are just two stops from Alexanderplatz on the U8 line.

If you’re arriving at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (Terminals 1 or 2), we recommend taking the FEX train (running every 30 minutes) to Berlin Central Station. From there, change to tram line M8 (direction Ahrensfelde/Stadtgrenze) and travel 6 stops to Rosenthaler Platz.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to take a taxi, you’ll find cars waiting outside the terminal, or you can use apps like Uber or Bolt. The journey takes around 30 minutes.

The Circus offers parking spaces in our underground garage for €20 per night. The garage is located at The Circus Apartments, Choriner Straße 84, just a 5-minute walk from The Circus Hotel and The Circus Hostel. Please note that the maximum vehicle height is 1.95 m.

To guarantee a parking spot, please make sure to add parking during the booking process, or alternatively or simply email us in advance to reserve a space. You can collect the garage key at reception upon arrival, where our team will provide instructions on how to access the garage and where to park. A deposit for the garage key is required.

At The Circus, you’re in good hands when it comes to exploring Berlin. Our reception team is always happy to share personal tips and recommendations to help you make the most of the city.

You can also use our Itinerary Service on the website. Plus, our blog and the Circus App are full of inspiration, tips, and highlights for your stay in Berlin. Prefer a printed map? Pick up one of our DIY maps at reception with our personal favorite spots.

In every hotel room and apartment, you’ll find our book, The Circus Sammelsurium, featuring our favourite spots, hidden gems, and stories from around the city.

And with our Behind the Curtain event programme, we’ll show you a different side of Berlin — away from the usual tourist paths, just like a local.

Bringing people together and introducing Berlin to our guests is our passion. That’s why, at The Circus, we host regular exclusive events, including walking tours, talks, games, and karaoke nights. Some tours are led by experienced guides, others by members of The Circus team — either way, you can expect a truly local experience, far from the typical tourist routes.

Just ask our friendly staff for more details or check out the events calendar to see what’s happening during your stay.

It’s a great way to meet fellow travellers, discover a new side of Berlin, or simply have fun during your trip. All guests are welcome to join — no matter which of The Circus houses you’re staying in.

You don’t have to interrupt your fitness routine while on holiday. At The Circus, you can stay active all year round. While we don’t have an on-site gym, we’ve partnered with our neighbours at EVO Fitness, located just across the street from The Circus Hotel & Hostel.

Day passes are available for all guests, regardless of which of three houses you’re staying in. Simply ask at reception.

We also offer yoga mats free of charge in all Circus houses. Just ask our reception team.

And if you’re at The Circus on a Thursday, don’t miss our legendary Karaoke night at the bar. You don’t have to sing to have fun – but it definitely helps! 😉

Head down to The Circus Microbrewery from 6 pm to meet fellow travellers over a house-brewed beer. We also host karaoke, game nights, and other daily events designed to bring people together.

We will always try our best to put you in the same dorm as your friends, since we want you to enjoy your stay as much as possible, but this cannot be guaranteed and we do not want to promise anything we cannot fulfil. You can contact us at info@circus-berlin.de and let us know of your preferences.

If you want to ride around Berlin like a local, rent our bikes at The Circus Hostel for €15 a day.

Policies and Prices

To guarantee the best price for your stay (and take advantage of our special offers), make sure to book directly with us. Prices on our website are on average 15% lower than on online booking platforms. The earlier you book, the better the price.

If you’re flexible with your travel dates, you’ll often find better deals on weekdays or between November and March.

The City Tax is a tourist tax from the Berlin government which is charged at 7,5% of your room rate (it does not apply to other parts of your booking, for example breakfast). The City Tax cannot be waived.

Your credit card may be charged in advance if you have booked a non-refundable rate or if your flexible booking exceeds €1,000 in value.

Cancellations of flexible bookings will, of course, be fully refunded in accordance with our cancellation policy. If you have any questions, our reservations team will be happy to assist you at any time.

Please note that non-refundable rates are not eligible for a refund in the event of cancellation.

To ensure we can welcome you under the best conditions and provide a high level of service, we plan arrivals in advance. Therefore, non-refundable rates are not eligible for a refund in the event of cancellation.

If you’re looking for more flexibility, we recommend booking one of our flexible or semi-flexible rate options.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept reservations without a valid credit card, as credit card details are required to confirm your booking.

However, if you choose a flexible rate, you’re welcome to pay in cash or with a different card at any point during your stay.

If you are a company representative looking to develop a hotel partnership then we would love to hear from you! Just drop us a message to sales@circus-berlin.de. We’d be glad to show you around, have a chat over a coffee and see how we can best work together.
